Accounts for Paraprofessionals and Other Staff Members
Staff who assist in a class or a school, and are not the primary teacher or teacher of record, are often referred to as co-teachers, coaches, curriculum specialists, and paraprofessionals. For this document, staff that is not the primary teacher will be referred to as paraprofessionals. These paraprofessionals may or may not be enrolled in classes, via the student information system (SIS), depending on the district setup.
There are four different scenarios paraprofessionals can experience in an EasyBridge integrated district depending on the district setup. They are the following:
- Paraprofessionals enrolled in a class and included in the ingestion files
- Paraprofessionals not enrolled in a class, but are included in the ingestion files
-
Paraprofessionals not enrolled in a class, and NOT included in the ingestion files
- Google Account Linking Enabled
Paraprofessionals who fulfill instructional tasks can access the learning platforms and program content via EasyBridge if they are added to the nightly ingestion files. These paraprofessionals are not the teacher of record, but will have the same access as the primary teacher and can perform the same tasks on EasyBridge, including:
- Single sign-on to EasyBridge
- Access the learning platforms using the links under Learning systems
- Add programs to their account
- View classes
- View student information and assignments
- View program content to be used for instruction with students.
(*) Paraprofessionals can be added to up to 20 schools via the ingestion file.
Paraprofessionals not enrolled in any classes but are included in the ingestion files will be able to single sign-on to EasyBridge. They will not see any students or classes on EasyBridge, but will be able to select the quick links to the learning platforms to access their curriculum.
(*) Paraprofessionals can be added to up to 20 schools via the ingestion file.
Manually create teacher accounts for paraprofessionals and other staff that are not included in the ingestion files but do need access to Savvas program content. Administrators use their Savvas administrator account to create teacher accounts for these individuals on Savvas EasyBridge. After providing paraprofessionals and other staff with their username and password, they sign in directly to the learning platforms and add one or more Savvas programs to their account. This process also applies to administrators that want access to Savvas program content.
Co-teachers in auto-rostered districts that also use Google Classroom with Realize should only be added to classes using the following criteria:
Linked Classes: When classes are linked, a co-teacher must be included in the nightly ingestion files and then link their Google account to their Realize account.
Imported Classes: A co-teacher must have a Realize account and must be part of the Google class. They must then link their Google account in Realize.
** Refer to this handout for more information about Google Classroom Linking.
To create teacher accounts for paraprofessionals, resource teachers, and other staff who need access to Savvas digital programs, follow the steps below:
Teachers and students can be added manually through EasyBridge. Follow the steps below to create individual user accounts. To bulk add users, see the Import users help file.
- Login to EasyBridge. You will automatically land on the Classes page.
- Click Users in the top navigation and select Accounts in the drop down menu.
- Click the blue Create user button in the upper right corner. A modal window opens providing the user type options to create.
- Select the user type - Teacher or Student - and click Next. You can only create one user at a time.
- Enter the required fields designated by asterisks and click the blue Create user button. Only districts with SuccessMaker subscriptions have access to all of the demographic data.
A message displays letting you know the user record is created, and provides a button to see the Student or Teacher profile created.
Users are created immediately and have access to their platforms. It may take a few minutes for them to appear in all areas of EasyBridge.
